Make a Difference

100% of Your Support Stays in Brandon & District

The United Way of Brandon & District annual fall campaign is the heart of everything we do. From September to December we host events, promote employee workplace campaigns, and give back to the community around us. Every year 100% of donations to the campaign goes towards funding the 35 programs at our 29 partner agencies. It is incredible to see the hard work and dedication everyone puts forward to help us reach our goal. Thank you to everyone who supports us during our campaign!

Giving

No matter how you give whether it be your time, your items, or your monetary donations we are able to support these programs thanks to you.

Your contributions are 100% donated locally thanks to an operating grant from the province of Manitoba. This grant pays for the wages at our office so we can put your money towards building a stronger community, moving people from poverty to possibility, and helping kids be all they can be. We sincerely thank each and every person who supports the United Way of Brandon & District!

All donations will be receipted with an annual tax receipt.

Gift of Securities

By donating publicly traded shares to United Way of Brandon, you will not pay the capital gains tax normally associated with such a sale. This means that you receive a tax receipt for the full value of the shares but are NOT taxed on any gain. Donors of securities therefore do not need to take any capital gain into income. Your charitable receipt will reflect closing price of the shares on the date they are received in United Way’s brokerage account.

Note: Actual shares must be transferred to United Way. If shares are sold and then the proceeds are donated to United Way, the enhanced tax benefits do not apply.

If you would like more information or are interested in giving please contact us at 204-571-8929 or by email office@brandonuw.ca.

Employee Workplace Campaign

Every year over 85 business and organizations throughout Brandon & District run an Employee Workplace Campaign. Most employee campaigns run sometime during the months of September - December however some start even earlier.

The main goal of an Employee Workplace Campaign is to raise funds and show support for the United Way Campaign that helps to:

Build Strong Communities  |  Move People From Poverty to Possibility  |  Help Kids Be All They Can Be

Whether you have a business with eight employees or 800 employees, a United Way Employee Workplace Campaign can be a fun and rewarding experience. Team building, improved employee morale, greater community awareness, and most importantly fun are all things that have been reported in businesses and organizations that run employee campaigns!

For any questions or concerns you have about running a Workplace Employee Campaign contact our Campaign Director – Areta Donnelly at areta@brandonuw.ca or call 204 571 8929.
